ADDITIONAL DATA
DATASET OF AUTHORITARIAN ELITES
Using the democratic transitions identified in the Global Transitional Justice Dataset, the lab has also collected data on authoritarian regime elites for all of the relevant countries in the dataset, noting their position(s) under the authoritarian regime, as well as their fates under democracy. This data was aggregated for each country and used to create country-level measures of the presence of authoritarian elites in post-transition institutions, including political parties, state administration, the military, business, and crime.
More information about the data and interactive geocoded maps of the measures can be found here.
The full Dataset of Authoritarian Elites will be available for download in December 2021.

DATASET OF CRIMINAL TRIALS
Using the democratic transitions identified in the Global Transitional Justice Dataset, the lab has collected data on criminal trial events targeting members of the former authoritarian state for all of the relevant countries in the dataset. The data includes events on indictments, arrests, trials, convictions, amnesties, appeals, annulments, amnesties, and acquittals, as well as information about the creation of institutions for conducting criminal trial of former perpetrators of human rights, such as special courts. It also disaggregates trial events by those which target the leadership of the former authoritarian regime, the rank and file members, neither, or both.
The data on criminal trial events will be available for download with version 2 of the Global Transitional Justice Dataset.
